NNPS Samplers describe the importance of family and community involvement for the selected topic or goal and provide a summary of related research.
Each booklet features ten basic and creative activities—such as family nights, workshops, volunteer activities, and student work—that have been implemented by members of NNPS and reported in annual collections of Promising Partnership Practices over the years.
The activities illustrate how to engage diverse families and community partners at all grade levels using the six types of involvement in the NNPS framework: parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, and collaborating with the community.
The field-tested activities may be used or adapted by school-based Action Teams for Partnerships (ATPs) and by district leaders to strengthen their programs of family and community involvement.
