Two organizations earned 2019 Partnership Organization Awards from NNPS at Johns Hopkins University. Organizations in NNPS work in varied ways. Some work “like a state”— assisting many districts. Others work “like a district”— directly facilitating schools. They must show that they are guiding either districts or schools to develop their knowledge, skills, and programs of partnerships.
Organizations in the U.S. are asked to encourage their districts and schools to join NNPS as active participants in the national agenda. International organizations that join NNPS must develop their own networks of schools and guide school-based programs of family and community engagement to meet local goals, interests, and populations.
Partnership Organization Award winners submitted descriptions of how their leadership helps districts or schools build their programs of family and community engagement for student success in school. The activities are part of the organization’s Leadership Plan for Partnerships (also submitted). Guidelines for organizations are provided in the NNPS book, School, Family, and Community Partnerships: Your Handbook for Action, Fourth Edition (2019, Corwin Press).
Repeat organization winners must show how they improved their programs over time and how they scaled up the number and/or quality of school-based partnership programs.
