2018 Partnership Organization Award Winners

Three organizations earned 2018 Partnership Organization Awards from NNPS at Johns Hopkins University.  Organizations in NNPS work in varied ways.  Some work “like a state”— assisting many districts.  Others work “like a district”— directly facilitating a number of schools with their partnership programs.  Organizations in NNPS must show that they are guiding district leaders to develop programs of partnerships at the district and school levels.  Organizations also must encourage their sites to join NNPS as active participants in the national agenda.

The Partnership Organization Award winners submitted descriptions of their own leadership activities and how they guide districts or facilitate schools to build their programs of family and community engagement for student success in school.  The activities are part of the organization’s Leadership Plan for Partnerships (also submitted).  Guidelines for organizations are provided in the NNPS book, School, Family, and Community Partnerships: Your Handbook for Action, Fourth Edition (2019, Corwin Press).

Organizations in NNPS strengthen eight essential elements for leadership on partnerships: leadership, teamwork, written plans, implementation, funding, support from colleagues, evaluation, and networking.  Repeat winners that earned awards in the past must show how they improved their programs over time and how they scaled up the number and/or quality of school-based partnership programs.
